What a Deal!
A covenant is a binding agreement between two parties. God made a promise to his chosen people that set the pathway for the BEST covenant that could be imagined. In the old covenant there were so many laws that people agreed to follow, but the truth is people are so imperfect it was impossible for them to keep their agreement on their own. God knew this and sent Jesus with a much better covenant, the agreement was Jesus would take our place and all we have to do is believe and follow Him. What a Deal! And to top it off He sent the Holy Spirit to reside with us always, so we have His presence to help us follow Jesus. This month we will help our kids understand the promise of the old covenant versus the new covenant while examining the ark of the covenant and all it symbolizes. Our hope is that as we all understand God’s promises more fully, we will develop a deep reverence and love for our God in Heaven!
